Licensed acupuncturist Dr. Lisa Oskardmay has provided acupuncture, chiropractic, and therapeutic massage to Triangle residents since 1995 and enjoys helping people learn more about this healing choice.
During the acupuncture visit, Dr. Oskardmay starts with a physical exam to learn more about the patient seeking natural relief from the back pain. She invites patients to explain the history and their understanding of the cause of their condition before proceeding to physical examination. A physical exam includes postural analysis, neurological testing and motion palpation, pulse analysis, and other diagnostic methods. She reviews available past imaging and other clinical studies and orders studies as needed. She understands this information with the eyes of a well-rounded holistic medicine practitioner to create a treatment plan that is unique to each pactient and attends to their specific needs.
The goal of acupuncture therapy is to help the body heal itself. The doctor places acupuncture needles into energetic acu-points to stimulate the flow of qi or healing force that exists within each of us. Acupoints exist along meridians or acupuncture channels where energy coalesces and has the capacity to create change along that channel.
